Your Austin Pet First Aid Instructor

Hello, I am Therese Kopiwoda, the owner of Austin Pet First Aid. I am a Pet Tech First Aid & Care instructor, and looking forward to sharing my first aid knowledge with you.

I have a long history of caring for animals and have had an interest in pet first aid since I was an active 4-H club member. I won many awards in 4-H demonstration contests with a presentation on pet first aid. The title of my presentation was, "The Life You Save May be Your Pet's," which is now the tag line for my current pet first aid business. Little did I know how appropriate that title would be! The first aid skills I demonstrated to others would later help to save my own dog, Sam, who was also my assistant for the presentation.

My desire to educate other pet owners about the necessity of knowing pet first aid came full circle when I enrolled in the Pet Tech First Aid & Care instructor course. Because I know personally how important pet first aid skills can be, I'm passionate about teaching other pet owners these skills as well. Through Austin Pet First Aid, it's my goal to empower fellow pet owners and pet professionals with the skills and confidence that will enable them to react more effectively during an emergency to increase the chances of their pets' survival.

In addition to training pet first aid, I am the the owner of PetsitUSA.com, (a nationwide directory of professional pet sitters, dog walkers, and dog daycares) and LucyGirl Pet Sitting, a small pet sitting business in Austin, Texas. I am also the Editorial Director of Wishbones for Pets, a nationwide program in which pet sitters collect goods for pets during the Thanksgiving season.
